Young Dancer Classes

Young Dancer

Teachers provide a nurturing environment where each child can develop according to his/her potential. Terminology and basic steps are introduced and an appreciation of French as the language of dance is developed. The school year is divided into two semesters (Sept-Dec and Jan-May).

Ready, Steady, Go!
This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 4 year olds emphasizing movement and musicality. The young dancer will have fun with skills learned through rhyme and rhythm. NOTE: Must be 4 by Sept 1st.

One lesson per week:
Wednesday 5:00-5:45pm
OR Saturday 8:45-9:30am
$295 each semester (Sep/Dec and Jan/May)
Dress Code: Pink or pastel leotard, pink or white footless tights, bare feet. Simple skirts permitted.
Dress Code (boys): White T-shirt, black or dark biker shorts or pants, bare feet.

Music & Movement
This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 5 year olds, emphasizing movement and musicality. The young dancer will become excited to learn dance patterns while engaging in and learning a variety of dance skills.

One lesson per week:
Monday 5:00-5:45pm
OR 6:00-6:45pm
OR Saturday 9:45-10:30am
$295 each semester (Sep/Dec and Jan/May)
Note: Must be 5 by Sept. 1st.
Dress Code (girls): Pink or pastel leotard, pink or white footless tights, bare feet. Simple skirts permitted.
Dress Code (boys): White T-shirt, black or dark biker shorts or pants, bare feet.

Dance Fundamentals
Dancers gain strength, flexibility, and ballet-based skills. For dancers ages 6. NOTE: Must be 6 by Sept 1st.

One lesson per week:
Wednesday 6:00-7:00pm
OR Saturday 10:45am-11:45am

$310 each semester (Sep/Dec and Jan/May)
Dress Code (girls): Pink leotard, pink footless tights, pink ballet slippers. No skirts.
Dress Code (boys): White T-shirt, black biker shorts or pants, white socks, black or white ballet slippers.

Beginning Ballet
Introduction to the Vaganova Syllabus. For dancers ages 7.
NOTE: Must be 7 by Sept 1st.

One lesson per week:
Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm
OR Thursday 6:30-7:30pm
$310 each semester (Sep/Dec and Jan/May)

Dress Code (girls): Lt. Blue cap sleeve leotard, pink footless tights, pink ballet slippers. No skirts.
Dress Code (boys): White T-shirt, black biker shorts or pants, white socks, black or white ballet slippers.

Tuition: Young Dancer tuition is equally split between two semesters, September through December and January through May. Tuition can be paid in two equal installments: • On or before September 13, 2010 and
• On or before January 1, 2011.
Tuition includes the costume and performance fee for the Spring Gala on May 21, 2011.

Annual enrollment fee: $55 individual; $60 family.
This one-time per year fee covers administrative costs for registering, database management, and processing transactions during the year.

Give Back and Get Back!
Each family and/or dancer who volunteers 4 hours for the year will receive a $20 credit toward tuition. Credit will be given in December for 1st semester volunteering OR in May for 2nd semester volunteering.

Performance: Spring Gala May 20-22, 2011 (all students)
