Giving the gift of dance to our children in our community
SPCB partners with St. Paul Public Schools to make ballet lessons accessible to a broader population.
Since 2008, Washington Technology Magnet School has partnered with us in providing dance and ballet in their after school program. Since January 2011 SPCB offers classes Monday through Friday within the school day. This helps develop long-term, sustainable arts programming that provides children with equal access to dance education regardless of their financial situation.
Through strategic partnership with the school SPCB helps make the arts part of each child’s complete education.
Director Quentin Watercamp has been with the Washington Technology program for three years. He is pictured below, standing 5th from the left. Bridget Higgins, former Director, says, “There is no place I would rather be. I love dance, theater, and song and it is so fulfilling to share it everyday with these kids. The kids know this is a safe environment in which to challenge themselves in new ways.
