About Saint Paul City Ballet
Saint Paul City Ballet (SPCB) maintains a repertoire of classical, neo-classical and contemporary works, ranging from full-length story ballets to new works by local and national choreographers.
The technical foundation of the Company is firmly rooted in classical ballet; staging and performing well-known ballets of great historic value as well as actively collaborating through its Artistic Partners to produce new innovative works and to explore new directions.
The Artistic Partners and Guest Partners include SPCB artistic staff, ballet masters, and invited regional and national choreographers and artistic directors who collaborate in the creation of programming. Realizing the collective power of live performance, they seek out musicians, composers and artists of other visual and dance disciplines inviting them to collaborate, bringing that power to a wider, more diverse audience.
School
Saint Paul City Ballet builds the foundation of a professional career through the pre-professional program designed for students. Avocational classes are held for adults age 18 and up who enjoy exercise in its most elegant form while encouraging a life-long appreciation for dance. The young dancer program introduces music and movement to 4-6 year olds. SPCB currently provides dance instruction to over 500 students annually, from ages 4 to 78.
