Leah is married and has one daughter.
She has worked full time as the Judicial Law Clerk for Ramsey County District Court Judge Joanne M. Smith for 22 years
and works part time for Saint Paul City Ballet. Leah was born on the West Side of St. Paul as the sixth of ten children of
Mexican-American parents. Leah took ballet classes from Lorand Andaházy and Anna Adrianova Andaházy,
came back for classes with Saint Paul City Ballet, eventually serving on the Board of Directors until early 2006.

Vikki
Lund
School
Registrar
Vikki
has been dancing and teaching in the Twin Cities
area since 1972. She specializes in jazz and tap
instruction and performed in the original Tappin’
in the Twin Cities tap dance festival in 1995. She also served on the Board of Directors and as School Administrator for CrossCurrent Dance Theatre, as well as performed with the CCDT company from 1988-1992. She has taught and choreographed for several studios and community education programs throughout the metro area, including the St. Anthony School of Dance, J&L Academy of Dance Arts, Footlights Dance Studio of Woodbury, and the Southeast Area YMCA. She is the mother of two grown children.

Phillip
Carman
Artistic Director Chamber Ballet and Ballet Instructor
Mr. Carman has created three original works for SPCB, including Concertina, Carmina Burana, Stations of the Heart, and has staged with new choreography L'apres-midi d'un faune. Mr. Carman began his professional career with a Ford Foundation scholarship and Ballet Studies at the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, School of American Ballet, and at American Ballet Theatre. Following a performing career as a member of Pennsylvania Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Les Grands Ballets Canadians and Tanz Project Munchen in Germany, Mr. Carman returned to the United States and began teaching and coaching.
Mr. Carman served as Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer for the Maryland Ballet for eight years, creating an original repertoire of over forty ballets, including a full-length Nutcracker.

Barbara
Christian
Ballet Instructor
Barbara received
her training with the Andaházys and is dedicated
to the rich tradition of the Russian method,
on which she bases her teaching. Barbara has
studied with artists including Gabriela Komleva,
Luba Gulyaeva, Marina Stavitskya, Alla Sizova,
Vladimir Davidoff, Jurgen Schneider, and Carol
Roderick. Barbara performed in classical ballets
and original works including, Les Sylphides,
Pas de Quatre, Scheherazade, Los Seises, Vivaldi
Concerto and Miraculous Stag. She
is proficient in knowledge and implementation
of the Vaganova Syllabus.

Coats
Young
Children’s Instructor
Mary
studied at Luther College.
She has worked with youth of all different ages
since graduation in 1984. Mary has worked in the
camp setting, preschools and workshops encouraging
and teaching dance. She is active in several preschool
dance programs and is proficient in the Kodály
method of music training for children.

Kandace
Krause Goman
Ballet and Sacred Arts Instructor
Kandace trained for 11 years with Andaházy School of Classical Ballet, as well as with Boston Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, Ballet Idaho, and numerous master teachers. She has performed with Andaházy Ballet Company, Minnesota Ballet, and Ballet Idaho and has over 14 years of teaching experience in ballet and creative movement. She teaches sacred dance and dance ministry classes for all ages and has performed with Pure Joy ministries. Kandace also has experience working as a special education and preschool assistant and is a certified nursing assistant/care provider for children with special needs. Kandace is the mother of four children.

Goodrich
Ballet

Anna
taught and performed in the
Chicago area for five years. Originally from
Minneapolis, with training at Minnesota Dance Theatre and
Andahazy School of Classical Ballet, she has over
25 years of performing and teaching experience
from the Midwest to Boston. She studied jazz at the Lou Conte studio in
Chicago and the Luigi studio in New York. She currently performs with Saint Anthony Sacred
Dance Company. Anna and her husband John are proud
parents of dancing daughters, Emily and Carly.

Bridget
Higgins
Young Children’s Outreach Instructor
Bridget Higgins received her initial dance training at the Andaházy School of Classical Ballet, as well as formal training at the College of St. Catherine. As a student visitor of Cuba, she has also been trained in salsa, merengue, and afro-Cuban dance styles. Bridget has worked with youth in all areas of stage performance with an emphasis on youth-focused community development. She is an ad hoc student assistant voice coach, choreographer, and hair and makeup artist for the Nativity of Our Lord musical productions in St. Paul, and she is currently teaching classes for Saint Paul City Ballet at the North End Outreach Program.

Christa
Hill
Jazz Instructor
Christa Hill has been teaching dance for 15 years. A graduate of the
University of Minnesota, Christa earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance.
She has performed original choreography by Doug Varone, Shapiro and Smith,
Zoe Sealy, Joe Chvala, Kim Vince, Zvi Gothneir, and Karis Sloss. She has
performed with the Ecclectic Edge Ensemble, The Flying Foot Forum, Saint
Anthony Sacred Dance, TobakNI, and Saint Paul City Ballet. Christa's
diverse dance training allows her to teach various levels of creative
movement, ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, and modern dance. She has
choreographed many musicals and is the lead instructor at Prairie School of
Dance. She is also the new owner of Tonka DanceWorks in Minnetonka.

Krista began her dance training with the Joyce Matthies Dance Centre in Albert Lea, Minnesota, where she studied tap and lyrical with an emphasis in jazz. She was captain of the dance team at Albert Lea High School for two years, has performed with the Albert Lea Civic Theatre in Annie, Swing, Oklahoma, and Smokey Joe's Café, and is a member of the jazz ensemble for the world premier of Enticed with Saint Paul City Ballet and the George Maurer Jazz Group. Krista studies jazz at Saint Paul City Ballet and is currently teaching at the North End Outreach Program.

Murry

Jennifer
joins SPCB from Chicago
where she has taught and performed since 2000. Jennifer
has performed in many classical and contemporary
ballets including Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Petruschka,
and Nutcracker, and most recently as a principal
dancer for Ballet Entre Nous in Winnetka, IL. She has taught on the faculty of Salt Creek Ballet,
the Schoolof Ballet Chicago and Minnetonka Dance Theater and has had opportunity
to study Vaganova technique around the United States and in the Republic of Georgia.

Janet
has over 30 years experience teaching ballet in Twin City metropolitan schools. She is currently teaching at
Saint Paul City Ballet, MDT, and the University of Minnesota. She was a principal dancer with the Andahazy Ballet
Company. Her career includes leading roles in Sleeping
Beauty, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, Nutcracker, Los
Seises, and Constancia and supporting
roles in Firebird,
Swan
Lake
, Coppelia, Scheherazade, and Giselle.
Janet has danced with Myron Johnson’s Ballet of the
Dolls for over 10 years. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota
with a BS in education. Janet also currently works
independently as a rehearsal coach.

Sothern
Ballet Instructor
Ted
is a native of Minneapolis and has danced extensively with Minnesota DanceTheater.
While a soloist with Washington Ballet, he toured China, the Phillipines, and performed in the Olympic Arts
Festival in Seoul, Korea. He has been a member of American Repertory Ballet,
North Carolina Dance Theater and Southern Ballet
Theater as well as performing as a guest artist with
a variety of companies throughout the U.S. Having performed many works by choreographers including
Sal Aiello, Vicente Nebrada, Judith Jamison, Alvin
Ailey, William Forsythe, Balanchine and Petipa has
made him at home in classical or contemporary roles.
Recently he has extensively toured Japan with Ballets Grandiva performing a variety of classic,
contemporary and comedic ballets.

Adam Stein

Mr. Stein trained at the Classical Ballet Academy of Minnesota and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. He has performed with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, North Carolina Dance Theatre and NCDT II, Chautauqua Ballet, and the Dutch National Ballet.

Wolney
Young Dancer Instructor
Monica
has been dancing for 30 years with an emphasis
on jazz dance based on Giordano technique. Her
training includes ballet, tap and modern dance
at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She has studied with jazz masters including Gus
Giordano, Frank Hatchett, Joe Lanteri and Joe Tremaine,
as well as choreographers Randy Duncan and Liz Imperio.
She has been performing, choreographing, and teaching
workshops and sacred dance classes for 20 years as
well as teaching creative movement and pre-ballet
in pre-schools, home school co-ops and dance schools
in Texas and Minnesota. She is the mother of six.

Christensen
Wardrobe Mistress
Paula has studied ballet for 25 years and works full time at the Grand Jeté dancewear store. She received training at Classical Ballet Academy, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and is presently training at Saint Paul City Ballet. She is also a member of the Saint Anthony Sacred Dance Company. Paula has performed in several ballets, including The Nutcracker, The Golden Bough, Los Seises, and Romeo and Juliet. She has also performed in and choreographed for musical productions of Two from Galilee and One Voice for Light the Way Church.
